HERstory

Hi! I am Anisha Chakraborty, a Girl Scout from West Windsor-Plainsboro. I have been in Girl Scouts throughout middle school and high school, working on numerous projects and volunteering in underprivileged areas. This past summer I have been working on my own Girl Scout Gold Award project.   My project was centered on Women’s Empowerment which included the issues women face in today's society and how they are portrayed in the media. I wanted to teach my program in underprivileged areas to gain a perspective from that outside of my “better-off” community. Through the course of 8 sessions, I taught children, anywhere from ages 4 to 13, different aspects of women empowerment and skills they could use to be healthy and happy.
